Terms of Use
Last updated 24 September 2026
The short version: the game is ours, your copy is yours to play. Trying it is free, and one purchase through Apple unlocks the rest. There's no real money at his table, only the kind you spend on the unlock.
These terms are an agreement between you and Holic Industries, LLC ("we", "us"), the maker of Sleight. They cover the Sleight app for iPhone (the "App") and this website. By downloading or playing the App you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Apple's terms come too
You get the App through Apple's App Store, so Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement and the App Store Terms and Conditions also apply. If these terms and Apple's disagree about how you may use the App or buy things in it, Apple's terms win.
2. Your licence
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules (including Family Sharing where it applies). You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the App or its art, music or code, except where the law gives you a right to do so that can't be waived.
3. Free to try, and the full-game unlock
- The App is free to download. Some of it is free to play, including the lesson, the first circles of the Descent, the Daily Deal and a starter set of cheats.
- The Full Game is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It permanently unlocks the rest of the game on your Apple Account: the full Descent and the deeper tables, every cheat, and the Devil's whole bargain deck. The price is shown in the App before you buy, in your local currency.
- Purchases are made, charged and handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
- Restore Purchase: if you reinstall the App or move to a new iPhone, open Settings (or the unlock screen) in the App and tap Restore Purchase while signed in to the same Apple Account.
- Refunds are decided by Apple under its policies. Ask at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a refund is granted, the unlock is removed.
- There are no subscriptions, no ads, no loot boxes and nothing sold at random.
4. No real money, no prizes
Sleight is a game about cheating at cards against a fictional Devil. Scores, stakes, "Marks" and everything won at his table have no cash value, can't be bought, sold, exchanged or withdrawn, and aren't real-money gambling. Leaderboard places, including the Daily Deal, carry no prize.
5. Playing fair (in the real world)
Cheating the Devil is the game. Cheating everyone else is not. Please don't hack, modify or tamper with the App or its scores, use bots or exploits to post leaderboard results, or use a Game Center name that is abusive or impersonates someone. We may remove scores or entries that break this.
6. Game Center and iCloud
Leaderboards, achievements and progress sync run on Apple's Game Center and iCloud, under Apple's own terms. They're optional. How the App treats your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes to the game
We'll keep improving Sleight. Updates may add, change, rebalance or remove features, cheats, hands, dealers or bargains. Anything you unlocked with the Full Game stays unlocked for whatever the Full Game includes at the time you play.
8. Ownership
Sleight, its name, the Horned Ace logo, and all its art, music, text and code belong to Holic Industries, LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You're welcome to stream, record and share videos and screenshots of Sleight, and to earn money from those videos, as long as you don't suggest we endorse you.
9. Support and maintenance
We, not Apple, are responsible for supporting and maintaining the App. Write to support@sleightgame.com or see the support page. Apple has no obligation to provide any support or maintenance for the App.
10. Warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise it will be free of bugs or always available.
If the App fails to conform to any warranty that can't be disclaimed, you may tell Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) of the App to you. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever for the App. Any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from a failure to conform to a warranty are our responsibility, to the extent the law doesn't let us disclaim them.
11. Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Holic Industries, LLC won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App and in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.
12. Claims about the App
We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims by you or anyone else relating to the App or your use of it. That includes product liability claims, claims that the App fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and consumer protection, privacy or similar claims. If anyone claims the App or your use of it infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
13. Legal compliance
You confirm that you're not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you're not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
14. Apple as a third-party beneficiary
You and we acknowledge that these terms are between you and us only, not Apple, and that Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Once you accept them, Apple has the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
15. Age
Sleight is rated for ages 13 and up. If you're under the age of majority where you live, please have a parent or guardian read these terms with you, especially before buying the Full Game.
16. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by deleting the App. We may end your licence if you break these terms. Sections 4, 8 and 10 to 17 survive.
17. Law and changes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Holic Industries, LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. That doesn't take away any protection you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live. If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date above. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
